MineColonies Courier & Warehouse Guide
As your MineColonies colony grows, managing item delivery between multiple buildings becomes essential. This guide covers the two key buildings—the Warehouse and Courier’s Hut—that automate logistics and keep your colony running smoothly. Learn how to set up automatic item distribution without any manual configuration.
Understanding the Courier’s Hut
The Courier’s Hut is your first piece of the automation puzzle. While its primary function is hiring the courier worker, it also displays all active delivery tasks happening in your colony. When you open the Courier’s Hut interface, you’ll see a live feed of items being transported throughout your settlement.
For example, the courier automatically picks up excess wheat seeds from your warehouse and delivers them to the chicken farmer, who then uses those seeds to breed chickens. None of this requires manual programming—it’s completely passive and automatic once the buildings are constructed.

How the Courier Works Automatically
The courier operates on a simple principle: any excess items produced by your workers get picked up automatically and delivered where needed. If your farm produces seeds, the courier will transport them to storage or directly to other buildings that need them. When builders upgrade structures, the old blocks get stored in the builder’s hut inventory, and the courier handles moving those materials to the warehouse.

You only need one courier to manage a fairly sizeable colony with many buildings. The system scales well without requiring additional workers.

Setting Up Your Warehouse
The Warehouse is the central hub for all your colony’s stored items. It contains multiple racks of storage, and the number of available racks increases with each warehouse level. Your warehouse will stock building materials, food, seeds, dirt, and any other items your colony produces.

Warehouse Levels and Storage Capacity
Higher warehouse levels unlock more storage racks. A level 4 warehouse offers significant capacity, and upgrading to level 5 allows you to increase storage even further through the warehouse settings. With multiple levels of warehouses in your colony, you can accumulate vast quantities of resources without worrying about space.

Managing Warehouse Inventory
When you open the warehouse interface, you can access several important functions:
View Inventory: See all stored items across your warehouse network
Manage Workers: Assign couriers and other workers to the warehouse
Settings: Adjust warehouse configurations and storage upgrades (requires level 5 warehouse)
Sort: Organize all items into their designated racks, preventing clutter and disorganization

Using the Sort Feature
The sort function is invaluable for maintaining an organized warehouse. By pressing sort, all items get reorganized into their proper racks, ensuring everything stays neatly arranged and easy to locate. This prevents your warehouse from becoming disorganized and guarantees efficient item retrieval for distribution.

Minimum Stock Settings
You can set minimum stock levels for specific items. The courier will then work to maintain those quantities based on what your colony produces. This ensures critical resources like food or building materials never drop below your preferred threshold.

Distribution to Builders and Other Workers
The warehouse and courier system automatically delivers materials to your builders’ huts during construction and upgrades. Food gets distributed to restaurants and other food-related buildings. Seeds go to farmers. Building materials go wherever they’re needed. The entire system operates passively without requiring any manual item transfers.

Summary
The Warehouse and Courier system in MineColonies transforms colony logistics from a tedious manual process into a seamless, automated operation. Build the Courier’s Hut and Warehouse, assign a courier worker, and let the system handle item distribution across your entire settlement. The higher your warehouse level, the more storage capacity you unlock—making large-scale colonies manageable without constant player intervention.
