Ogre Origin Explained – Medieval Origins Revival
The Ogre origin in Medieval Origins Revival is a powerful tank class that transforms you into a massive, lumbering creature. Standing three blocks tall, Ogres excel at absorbing damage and dealing massive melee attacks with axes, making them ideal for group content and boss battles. However, their size comes with significant drawbacks including reduced speed, constant hunger, and limited jumping ability.
Physical Characteristics
As an Ogre, you become absolutely massive—standing three blocks tall with a gargantuan build that’s immediately noticeable. Your size is your defining feature, making you tower over other players and mobs alike.

Combat Abilities
Axe Affinity
Ogres have a natural affinity for axes and deal significantly more damage when wielding them compared to other weapons. This makes axes your weapon of choice for maximum effectiveness in combat.

Blood Lust
One of the Ogre’s most powerful abilities is called Blood Lust. When activated, you fly into a blinding rage that allows you to charge through hordes of enemies quickly, dealing tremendous damage. However, during this ability your vision becomes severely impaired, making it difficult to see what’s happening around you. Activating Blood Lust costs half of your current health.

Health and Defense
Exceptional Health Pool
Ogres are classified as “Stocky,” which grants you an insane amount of health compared to other origins. This massive health pool makes you extremely resilient in combat situations, allowing you to absorb far more damage than standard players.

Hunger and Sustenance
Dietary Immunity
A major advantage of being an Ogre is that you do not experience poison or hunger effects from any food source. You can consume any type of food without consequences, giving you significant flexibility in your survival strategy.

Constant Hunger
Despite your immunity to hunger effects, Ogres are absolutely ravenous and must eat constantly to maintain energy. Your hunger bar depletes rapidly—you can lose two bars of hunger in just a minute of standing idle. This constant need for sustenance is a significant drawback that requires careful resource management.

Movement and Mobility
Reduced Speed
Ogres are significantly slower than most other origins. Your massive size forces you to conserve energy, resulting in sluggish movement that can be frustrating when trying to traverse terrain quickly.

Limited Jumping Ability
Your enormous weight works against you when jumping. You cannot jump high despite your massive size, and gravity feels heavily applied against you. This limitation even prevents you from stepping up into certain blocks, making vertical exploration more challenging.

Best Use Cases
While Ogres have significant drawbacks, they excel in specific scenarios. If you’re participating in group content or engaging in boss battles where you can rely on allies to deal damage while you focus on absorbing hits, the Ogre becomes incredibly valuable. With massive armor and your natural tankiness, you can serve as an impenetrable shield for your team, protecting them while they deal the necessary damage to defeat tough enemies.

Summary
The Ogre origin is a specialized tank class with exceptional health and damage output when wielding axes, but comes with the trade-off of reduced mobility and constant hunger. While not ideal for solo play or exploration, Ogres shine in group combat scenarios where their defensive capabilities and raw damage output make them invaluable team members. Choose this origin if you’re prepared to embrace a slower playstyle in exchange for becoming an unstoppable force on the battlefield.
