How to Find & Kill the Snow Queen in The Twilight Forest

How to Find & Kill the Snow Queen in The Twilight Forest

Once you’ve defeated the Alphilletti in The Twilight Forest, you’re ready to take on one of the mod’s most challenging bosses: the Snow Queen. This guide walks you through locating her tower in the frozen biomes and provides strategies to defeat her across both phases of the fight.

Finding the Snow Queen’s Tower

After defeating the Alphilletti, head deep into the ice biomes within The Twilight Forest. You’ll notice a distinct icy biome in the middle of the forest, populated with penguins and dominated by a tall tower structure. Your destination is this tower—climb toward it and prepare to enter.

Important: Don’t be fooled by the entrance door. It doesn’t necessarily lead you up the correct path to reach the Snow Queen.

Navigating the Tower

Night vision is highly recommended for this section. As you ascend, you’ll encounter several hazards:

Stable Ice Cores: These will damage you—avoid contact as you climb.

Snow Guardians: Hostile mobs that spawn within the tower. Be prepared to defend yourself.

Small Doors in Walls: These side passages are dead ends. Stay focused on climbing upward.

Keep climbing the main staircase. The tower eventually ends, but you’ll need to dig upward through ice blocks to reach the Snow Queen’s chamber. Continue breaking through the ice floor by floor until you enter the boss room.

Identifying the Boss Chamber

You’ll know you’re in the correct location when you see the room with ice-covered surfaces and an open chamber above. The Snow Queen awaits in this final arena.

Snow Queen Boss Fight Strategy

Boss Overview

The Snow Queen drifts up and down on an ice cloud throughout the entire fight. This ice cloud acts as a protective shield, preventing you from damaging her while she hovers above the ground. The fight consists of two distinct phases with different attack patterns.

Phase One: Ice Crystals

During the first phase, the Snow Queen summons ice crystals that distract you while she regenerates health. This phase continues until her health drops to 125 hearts.

Strategy for Phase One: When the Snow Queen descends toward the ground, jump up and attack her. You can damage her head and upper body even with the ice cloud present below her. After attacking, she’ll rise back up. Wait for her to descend again and repeat. While you can destroy the ice crystals she summons, focusing your damage on the Snow Queen herself is more efficient.

Phase Two: Extended Arms & Aerial Attacks

Once the Snow Queen’s health reaches 125, she enters her second phase with more aggressive behavior:

Hand Projectiles: She extends her arms and shoots projectiles from her hands.

Crushing Attack: She can fly to the top of the chamber and rapidly fall to the ground, attempting to crush you with her ice cloud.

Recognizing the Crush Attack: Watch for her positioning at the top of the chamber. When she begins her descent, she’ll plummet downward. Jump upward to avoid being crushed, then strike her as she comes down.

General Combat Tips

Stay mobile and watch her positioning on the ice cloud.

Time your jumps to meet her as she descends.

Remember that the ice cloud shields her from below but leaves her upper body vulnerable.

Be cautious of her sudden crushing attacks—they deal significant damage.

Rewards

Upon defeating the Snow Queen, you’ll receive:

Large quantities of snowballs

Tri Bow

Snow Queen Trophy

Conclusion

The Snow Queen is a formidable boss that requires patience and timing. By understanding her attack patterns, maintaining awareness of her ice cloud shield, and capitalizing on her descent phases, you’ll be able to claim victory and earn her trophy. Good luck, and happy modding!
