How to Craft Iron, Rose Gold & Diamond Armour in Beyond Depth
How to Craft Iron, Rose Gold & Diamond Armour in Beyond Depth
Getting from basic Chainmail all the way to Diamond Armour in the Beyond Depth Mod Pack might seem daunting at first — but it’s actually straightforward once you know the steps. This guide walks you through every stage of the armour progression, from crafting your first Iron Ingots to unlocking full Diamond Gear using Rose Gold upgrades and Diamond Termite Shards.
Step 1: Getting Iron Gear
Mining Iron
Before you can work with Iron, you’ll need to craft a Copper Pickaxe first — this is required to mine Iron Ore in Beyond Depth. Once you’ve mined enough, smelt your ore down into Iron Ingots.
What About Chainmail?
With Iron Ingots and Iron Nuggets, you can craft Chainmail armour. However, Chainmail is just an early stepping stone — the real goal here is full Iron Gear, so skip past Chainmail for now.
Building the Mechanical Press
To process Iron Ingots into usable sheets, you’ll need to craft a Mechanical Press. Here’s how to build one:
Craft an Andesite Casing using a block of Andesite.
Craft an Andesite Alloy as shown in the recipe.
Right-click the Andesite Alloy onto some Stripped Wood — this converts it into an Andesite Casing.
Use the Andesite Casing to complete the Mechanical Press recipe.

Attaching the Hand Crank
Once your Mechanical Press is placed, craft a Hand Crank. Shift-right-click (or right-click) the Hand Crank onto the small cog protruding from the side of the Mechanical Press to attach it.

Pressing Iron Ingots into Iron Sheets
Place your Iron Ingots underneath the Mechanical Press, then right-click the Hand Crank to activate it. The press will flatten the ingots, producing Iron Sheets. Use those Iron Sheets to craft your Iron Gear.

Step 2: Upgrading to Rose Gold Gear
Crafting the Rose Gold Alloy
Rose Gold is an alloy made from 3 Copper Ingots and 3 Gold Ingots. To combine them, you’ll need a Mechanical Mixer.
Building the Mechanical Mixer
Craft and place a Mechanical Mixer. Attach a Cogwheel to it — but pay close attention to placement. The cogwheel must be positioned so there is a solid block beneath it, allowing the cog to mesh correctly with the mixer’s cog. If placed incorrectly, the mixer will not function. Once aligned, attach your Hand Crank on top of the mixer.

Mixing Rose Gold
Open the Mechanical Mixer and insert 3 Gold Ingots and 3 Copper Ingots. Right-click the Hand Crank to start mixing. You’ll see the mixer working — it will automatically stop when the process is complete. Right-click to collect your Rose Gold Alloy.

Creating the Rose Gold Upgrade Template
Use your Rose Gold Alloy in its crafting recipe to create a Smithing Template: Rose Gold Upgrade. Take this template to a Smithing Table along with your Iron Gear piece (helmet, chestplate, tools, etc.) and a single Rose Gold Alloy. This upgrades your Iron Gear into full Rose Gold Gear.

Step 3: Upgrading to Diamond Gear
What You Need
Upgrading from Rose Gold to Diamond requires two key materials:
Diamonds — these spawn naturally deep underground at standard diamond Y-levels.
Diamond Termite Shards — dropped by Diamond Termites.
Finding Diamond Termites
Diamond Termites are found inside Infected Diamond Ore. This ore looks identical to regular Diamond Ore, so keep a close eye out — you won’t know it’s infected until you mine it. Make sure you are not playing on Peaceful difficulty, as the termites will not spawn on that setting.

Mining Infected Diamond Ore
Equip your Rose Gold Pickaxe and mine the Infected Diamond Ore. Diamond Termites will burst out — kill them to collect Diamond Termite Shards. These shards are what you need to perform the final Diamond upgrade at the Smithing Table.

Bonus: Crafting Diamonds from Shards
If you’re struggling to find normal Diamond Ore, you can combine 9 Diamond Termite Shards to craft a regular Diamond. In practice, players often find it’s the Infected Diamond Ore that’s harder to locate — both variants spawn at the same Y-levels you’d normally expect to find diamonds, so it comes down to luck.
Summary
That’s the full armour progression in the Beyond Depth Mod Pack — from early Chainmail, through crafted Iron Gear using the Mechanical Press, up to Rose Gold via the Mechanical Mixer, and finally all the way to Diamond Gear using Diamond Termite Shards. Each step builds on the last, so take your time setting up your machinery and exploring the deep levels for those rare Infected Diamond Ore blocks. Good luck out there!
