Berserker (More RPG Classes) – Complete Tutorial

Berserker (More RPG Classes) – Complete Tutorial

The Berserker class from the More RPG Classes mod is a high-damage, melee-focused class that rewards aggressive gameplay. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about the Berserker, including spellbooks, abilities, gear, and weapons to maximize your damage output.

Getting Started with the Berserker Class

To begin your journey as a Berserker, you’ll need to access the spell binding table and locate the Ancient Rune Tone spellbook. This is the core spellbook that defines the Berserker class and unlocks all its unique abilities.

Spellbook Requirements

The Ancient Rune Tone spellbook requires two specific items to craft:

Wolf Fur – Drops from Wolves

Hardened Leather – Drops from O’Ravagers

Both materials are relatively easy to obtain, making the Berserker an accessible class for newer players.

Core Abilities

The Berserker class comes equipped with four primary abilities that form the foundation of its playstyle:

Wild Rage

This is the signature ability of the Berserker. Wild Rage increases your Attack Speed and Rage, with the ability to stack up to ten times. The core mechanic of the Berserker revolves around Rage—the more stacks you build, the more damage you deal. This makes Wild Rage essential for maximizing your offensive potential.

Blood Reckoning

Blood Reckoning allows the caster to heal themselves while converting absorption into health. This ability provides sustain during combat, helping you survive longer as you build your Rage stacks.

Bloodlust

With each strike, you deal massive damage in exchange for self-damage. However, the damage you deal grants you absorption, which effectively converts your aggression into survivability. This creates an engaging risk-reward dynamic.

Outrage

Outrage clears heal effects and simultaneously increases your Attack Speed and damage. This ability provides utility by removing negative effects while boosting your offensive capabilities.

Understanding Rage Power

Rage Power is a unique stat exclusive to the Berserker that fundamentally changes how you play. The mechanic is simple but powerful: the less health you have, the more damage you deal. This encourages an aggressive, high-risk playstyle where you intentionally take damage to build Rage and trigger Rage Power bonuses. As you get closer to defeat, your damage output increases exponentially, creating thrilling clutch moments.

Berserker Gear

The Berserker has access to three tiers of armor, each progressively more powerful:

Wildling Armor

The entry-level Berserker gear, Wildling Armor requires basic materials:

Lever

Wolf Fur

This armor provides Attack Speed and Rage Power, giving you early access to the class’s core mechanics.

Northling Armor

An upgrade from Wildling Armor, Northling Armor is crafted using Bearfur obtained from Polar Bears. This tier provides improved stats with increased Attack Speed, Rage Power, and Attack Damage.

Netherite Versions

The final upgrade tier, Netherite versions of Berserker armor can be crafted by upgrading your Northling pieces. Alternatively, these items can also drop from End Cities, providing multiple pathways to obtain them.

Berserker Weapons

Berserker weapons span multiple tiers, starting from Flint and progressing all the way to Black tier. The weapon progression offers increasingly powerful options as you advance.

Important Note on Loot Tables

Some weapons, particularly Black tier weapons, may only be obtainable from chests depending on your modpack configuration. The mod itself doesn’t include default drop chances for certain items—these are typically coded into individual modpacks. Check the loot table information in your specific modpack to confirm where items can be found. If an item has no loot table entry, it means there’s no chest drop configured for it in your modpack.

Black Cleaver

The Black Cleaver is a powerful endgame weapon that grants the Carve passive ability. Whenever you hit with a melee attack, you have a chance to stack Armor Reduction, decreasing incoming damage by 5% per stack. These stacks accumulate as you continue attacking, making the Black Cleaver increasingly valuable the longer you’re in combat.

Scoff Rung

Another high-tier weapon option, Scoff Rung provides nine Attack Damage and Attack Speed along with Rage Power. Like the Black Cleaver, its availability depends on your modpack’s loot table configuration.

Weapon Progression

Berserker weapons can generally be crafted yourself through most tiers, with the Black Cleaver being the final pinnacle weapon. Each upgrade tier provides more Attack Damage and increased Rage Power bonuses, allowing you to scale your damage output significantly as you progress through the game.

Summary

The Berserker is a high-risk, high-reward class perfect for players who enjoy aggressive, damage-focused gameplay. By stacking Rage through Wild Rage, leveraging Rage Power to turn low health into high damage, and equipping powerful gear and weapons, you can become an unstoppable force. Remember that specific loot drops depend on your modpack configuration, so always check your modpack’s loot tables when seeking rare items. Whether you’re crafting your own gear or hunting for endgame weapons in chests, the Berserker offers a thrilling and powerful playstyle.
