Twilight Forest Full Minoshroom & Labyrinth Guide
Twilight Forest Full Minoshroom & Labyrinth Guide
The Minoshroom is the third boss encounter in the Twilight Forest mod. Based on the Minotaur from Greek mythology, this boss fight takes place within the Labyrinth — a sprawling underground maze filled with dangers. This guide will walk you through locating the Labyrinth, navigating its challenges, and defeating the Minoshroom to claim valuable rewards.
Locating the Labyrinth Entrance
Finding the Labyrinth is your first challenge. Use your Magic Map to identify the location. When viewing the Magic Map in a swamp biome, look for grey icons — these mark the entrances to the Labyrinth. You’ll typically find three entrances scattered throughout the swamp biome where you may also encounter the Hydra.
The Labyrinth entrance itself is subtle and easy to miss. It appears as an unassuming hill in the landscape. When you approach and enter, you’ll notice Minor Towers nearby. Your goal is to jump down into the Labyrinth and begin exploring to find the Minoshroom boss room.

Essential Tools and Items
Maze Map and Maze Map Focus
While your Magic Map is helpful, creating a Maze Map provides much greater detail. To craft a blank Maze Map, you’ll need a Maze Map Focus, which drops from Minor Towers at approximately a 2.5% drop rate — quite rare.
Once you obtain a Maze Map Focus and craft a Maze Map, you can use it to view the Labyrinth layout directly in your inventory. The map will display the structure of the maze, making navigation significantly easier. An upgraded version (the Maze Map All) will also show ore deposits and treasure locations on the map.

Alternative Methods for Finding Maze Map Focus
If you’re playing in a mod pack like All the Mods, you can use Hostile Neural Networks to farm Minor Tower predictions. This dramatically increases your chances of obtaining the Maze Map Focus compared to random drops. Check out the Hostile Neural Networks tutorial on this channel for detailed instructions.
Another option is the Explorer’s Compass mod. Simply right-click the compass and search for “Minoshroom Labyrinth” or “Minor Tower Labyrinth” to locate the nearest entrance. Some mod packs intentionally make this compass difficult to obtain due to its powerful functionality, but you can install it in custom mod packs if desired.

Potion of Night Vision
The Labyrinth is extremely dark. Bring a Potion of Night Vision with you to dramatically improve visibility and make navigating the maze much easier. This simple preparation will save you considerable frustration.
Combat Preparations
Charm of Keeping
Slimes within the Labyrinth drop the Charm of Keeping at a 1.5% chance. This item is invaluable for protecting your inventory:
Charm of Keeping I: Keep all items in your main hand and off-hand when you die
Charm of Keeping II: Crafted from four Charm of Keeping I; keeps everything in your hot bar when you die
Charm of Keeping III: Crafted from four Charm of Keeping II; keeps your entire inventory when you die
Farming these charms before facing the Minoshroom is highly recommended, as death in the Labyrinth can be costly.

Navigating the Labyrinth
The Labyrinth consists of multiple levels. As you explore, you’ll encounter various rooms. Your objective is to descend through the maze by finding wells or drop points similar to the Labyrinth entrance. Keep jumping down and moving deeper until you reach the boss room.
Be cautious of unusual-looking structures — some rooms contain decorative elements that aren’t part of the critical path.

The Boss Room and Minoshroom Battle
The boss room is distinctly different from other Labyrinth chambers. You’ll recognize it by its unique design. The Minoshroom is often enclosed by fences, which provides a significant tactical advantage — you can attack it with a bow from outside the enclosed area, making this an easier fight than it initially appears.
If you prefer a direct melee approach, simply break through the fences to engage. The Minoshroom has only 120 health, making it one of the less challenging bosses in Twilight Forest despite its reputation.

Defeating the Minoshroom and Claiming Rewards
Once the Minoshroom is defeated, a mangrove chest will appear in the middle of the boss room. Open this chest to receive your rewards, including the Diamond Minotaur Axe and Meat Stroganoff.
Diamond Minotaur Axe
This unique weapon deals extra damage while charging (sprinting). It’s a solid reward for the battle.

Meat Stroganoff — Important!
You must eat the Meat Stroganoff to unlock the next boss in the Twilight Forest progression. This item is essential for advancement, so consume it as soon as you receive it.

Additional Treasure: Maze Breaker Pickaxe
Throughout the Labyrinth’s treasure chests, you have a chance to find the Maze Breaker Pickaxe. This specialized tool is invaluable for efficient resource gathering in the Labyrinth:
Uses only 1 durability when breaking Labyrinth walls and floors (compared to 16 durability for normal pickaxes)
Includes Efficiency IV
Includes Unbreaking III
Includes Fortune II
This pickaxe is worth seeking out, as it saves considerable durability and time when collecting resources.

Other Treasure Finds
Depending on your mod pack, treasure chests in the Labyrinth may contain additional valuable items. For example, in All the Mods (ATM), you can find Graceful Ironwood Swords and various other useful equipment.
Summary
The Minoshroom and Labyrinth present an exciting mid-game challenge in Twilight Forest. By locating the entrance with your Magic Map, preparing with appropriate gear (especially a Maze Map and Potion of Night Vision), farming protective Charms of Keeping, and navigating to the boss room, you’ll be well-equipped to defeat this iconic encounter. Remember to eat the Meat Stroganoff to unlock progression toward the next boss!
