How to Get Nobu in Mahou Tsukai

If you’re looking to upgrade your ranged arsenal in Mahou Tsukai, the Nobu is an excellent choice. This unique machine gun-style bow offers a distinctive playstyle for players who prefer projectile weapons. Follow this step-by-step guide to craft and obtain your own Nobu.

Getting Started: What You’ll Need

Before you begin the journey to obtaining a Nobu, gather the following items:

A regular bow

A scroll of strengthening

200 mana (also called mahu)

Step 1: Strengthen Your Bow

First, place the bow in your offhand. Then, equip the scroll of strengthening in your main hand. You will need 200 mana to perform this action.

Hold right-click with the scroll of strengthening and release. You should see the bow now displays two properties: “Strengthened” and “Unbreakable.”

Step 2: Set Up Your Testing Ground

This is where things get challenging. You need to hit a mob with an arrow from over 200 blocks away. The distance requirement is measured in 3D space (not just the X or Y axis), so a pillar is the best setup for this task.

Here’s an important consideration: hostile mobs will despawn if they are 150 blocks or further away from the player. To prevent this, use name tags on your test mobs to ensure they don’t despawn during your attempt.

Step 3: Position Yourself Correctly

Place your named mobs at the base of your pillar, then climb up at least 200 blocks higher than their position. This ensures you meet the distance requirement of being over 200 blocks away when you fire.

For safety while climbing, hold shift and walk forward. Shifting prevents you from accidentally falling off the pillar’s edge.

Step 4: Fire Your Arrow

Draw your bow with an arrow and fire down at the mobs below. You may need to fire multiple arrows before the transformation occurs. After firing several arrows, your bow should transform into the Nobu.

Important Notes and Troubleshooting

Be aware that after firing arrows, your bow may revert to its default version, losing the “Strengthened” and “Unbreakable” properties. If this happens, you have two options:

Option 1: Bring a bucket of water to the top of your pillar for safe descent

Option 2: Carry multiple scrolls of strengthening with you to re-strengthen the bow if needed
