How to Find & Kill the Alpha Yeti in The Twilight Forest

After defeating the Agast in your Twilight Forest adventure, it’s time to challenge the Alpha Yeti. This guide will walk you through locating the Alpha Yeti’s lair, understanding its attack patterns, and defeating this formidable boss to claim valuable rewards.

Locating the Alpha Yeti Caves

Once you’ve killed the Agast, head to the icy biome within The Twilight Forest. In this frozen landscape, you’ll notice several massive structures scattered throughout the area. These distinctive structures are Yeti Caves, and they house the Alpha Yeti—the most powerful Yeti in the region.

The caves are impossible to miss due to their enormous size. Look for multiple large structures throughout the biome, and you’ll have found the Alpha Yeti’s domain.

Understanding the Alpha Yeti’s Attack Patterns

The Alpha Yeti has two primary attack mechanics that you’ll need to prepare for:

Attack One: Snowball Barrage

The first attack involves the Alpha Yeti lobbing snowball projectiles in your direction. When these snowballs land on the floor, they create a freezing effect that will immobilize you if you stand too close to them. The best strategy is to run in a circle around the boss while staying alert for these frozen zones.

Attack Two: Jumping & Ground Pound

The second attack is more dangerous—the Alpha Yeti will jump up and down repeatedly for approximately 20 seconds, dealing damage to you with each impact. During this phase, watch out for additional hazards: icicles will fall from the ceiling above, and the smaller Yetis in the cave will continue to pick you up and throw you around, which can result in significant fall damage.

Be cautious about getting too close during the jumping phase, as the Alpha Yeti may grab and throw you across the arena.

Combat Strategy

Despite its intimidating appearance and multiple attacks, the Alpha Yeti is a relatively straightforward fight with moderate damage output. Here’s the winning approach:

When the snowballs are being thrown, run in a circular pattern around the boss to avoid the frozen zones

Use this time to get close and land attacks on the Alpha Yeti

When it begins its jumping phase, maintain distance and watch for falling icicles

After the jumping phase ends, the Alpha Yeti will enter a stunned state where it appears to be crying

Rush in immediately and attack during this vulnerable window

Repeat until the boss is defeated

Once you’ve successfully defeated the Alpha Yeti, a chest will appear in the middle of the arena containing valuable loot:
