Diesel Generator Full Tutorial – Immersive Engineering
In this guide, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know about building and operating the Bio-Diesel Generator in Immersive Engineering. This powerful machine is a game-changer for your mod setup, capable of producing massive amounts of power once properly configured. Building the Bio-Diesel Generator
The Bio-Diesel Generator is a large multiblock structure that requires careful assembly. Here’s the exact configuration you’ll need to follow:
First Row (Bottom)
Start by placing steel scaffolding on either side of your structure. In the middle, add three fluid pipes. At the back, position three radiator blocks. Finally, place one generator block and two more fluid pipes on the front.

Second Row (Middle)
On the second level, add three more generator blocks on the front. Fill the remaining spaces with heavy engineering blocks, and place a Redstone engineering block on the right side. At the back of this row, add three more radiator blocks to complete the cooling system.

Third Row (Top)
The top level features three radiator blocks and a cross or star-shaped pattern of heavy engineering blocks filling the gaps.

Activation
Once your structure is complete, use your Engineer’s Hammer to right-click the center generator block in the middle row. This will transform the multiblock into your operational Bio-Diesel Generator.

Creating Bio-Diesel Fuel
The Bio-Diesel Generator requires Bio-Diesel as fuel to operate. This fuel is produced through a multi-step process involving several Immersive Engineering machines. We have separate detailed tutorials for each machine in our playlist, but here’s a quick overview:
Fuel Production Process
The Bio-Diesel production chain involves three key components:
Squeezer: Use this machine to squeeze hemp into plant oil
Fermenter: Process potatoes in the fermenter to create ethanol
Refinery: Combine the plant oil and ethanol with nitrate dust as a catalyst to produce Bio-Diesel
Connection Setup
Pump the plant oil from your squeezer into one side of the refinery. Simultaneously, pump the ethanol from your fermenter into the other side. Add nitrate dust as a catalyst, and the refinery will begin producing Bio-Diesel fuel.

Connecting Fuel to Your Generator
Fuel is pumped into the Bio-Diesel Generator through the sides of the structure. You’ll see two injection points on the sides of your generator—one on the left and one on the right.

Optional Redstone Control
You can add a Redstone lever to one of the input sides to control whether the generator is running or idle. This gives you convenient on/off control without needing to break pipes.
Operating the Generator
When your Bio-Diesel Generator is active and receiving fuel, you’ll notice two clear indicators: visible smoke emanating from the structure and a fan running at the back to dissipate heat. These signs confirm that your machine is operating and producing power.

Noise Considerations
The Bio-Diesel Generator produces significant noise during operation. If sound will be bothersome in your base, consider building the machine away from your main living area or installing a sound muffler nearby to reduce noise pollution.
Extracting Power Output
Power is extracted from the Bio-Diesel Generator through three connector nodes located on the top of the machine. These are high-voltage power points that require proper cable setup.
HV Connectors and Cables
The generator exclusively outputs High Voltage (HV) power, which means you must use HV connectors and HV cables to extract energy. If you mistakenly use HV relays instead of connectors, your power transfer will not function correctly—be sure to use proper HV connectors.

Power Distribution
Connect HV coils to the HV connectors on top of the generator, then link them to an HV cable network leading to your battery storage or power consumers. As power flows through your system, you’ll see your battery filling up.

Safety Warning
HV cables cannot be insulated, making them dangerous to walk under or near. You will receive electrical damage if you come into contact with exposed HV cables. Plan your cable routes carefully, either routing them above head height or protecting them with blocks to prevent accidental contact.
