Finding Villager Costumes in Village Chests

The following villager profession outfits offer no gameplay benefit beyond decoration: the Armorer, Butcher, Cartographer, Cleric, Farmer, Fisherman, Fletcher, Librarian, Shepherd, and Weaponsmith costumes. Wearing them will not grant you any stats or special abilities — they are purely cosmetic.

Wandering Trader Costume – Invisibility Effect

The Wandering Trader set — consisting of the Hood, Robe, and Bottoms — is a notable exception. Wearing this outfit will make you invisible during the night or whenever you are attacked. Unlike many other costumes, the Wandering Trader costume can also be obtained by killing Wandering Traders in the world, not just from village chests.

This armor is crafted at a crafting table and grants Armor Toughness and Resistance, making your character significantly stronger. Evoker Robe – Evoker Fangs Ability

Wearing the Evoker Robe allows you to press V to summon a circle of Evoker Fangs around you, just like the mob itself. Other Illagers will still attack you while wearing this outfit.

Pillager Outfit – Bad Omen on Death

If you are killed while wearing the Pillager Gear, the mob or player that killed you will be inflicted with the Bad Omen effect. This adds an interesting risk-reward element to wearing the outfit in combat.

Witch Armor – Potion Effect Protection

The Witch Armor cannot be crafted and must be found as loot. Wearing it will protect you from certain negative potion effects and will automatically apply beneficial potion effects to you under specific circumstances, making it one of the more mechanically interesting outfits in the mod.

Villager Trading Bonus

When wearing any villager costume and completing a trade with a villager, you will receive the Regeneration I effect. It is a small but handy perk that rewards you for engaging with the villager trading system while in costume.

The Grunge Sponge is crafted using one Stick and two Sponges. When used on Cobblestone, it converts the block into its Mossy Cobblestone variant — and can reverse the process too. This makes it an excellent tool for decorating builds and adding natural variety to your base or village structures.
