How to Increase the Level Cap in All The Mons

How to Increase the Level Cap in All The Mods

When you first start playing All The Mods, your Pokémon are restricted to a level cap of 15. If you want to train your team beyond this limit, you’ll need to unlock higher level caps by completing specific tasks. This guide will walk you through the process of increasing your level cap step by step.

Understanding the Level Cap System

Your initial level cap in All The Mods begins at level 15 for all your Pokémon. To progress beyond this limitation, you’ll need to engage with the trainer card system and trade with NPCs to unlock higher caps.

Step 1: Craft Your First Trainer Card

The first item you need to create is a basic trainer card. This is a straightforward crafting recipe that serves as your foundation for increasing your level cap.

Step 2: Find the Trader NPC

Once you’ve crafted your trainer card, hover over it in your inventory. You’ll notice a polygon shape appears in the corner of the card—this acts as a directional indicator pointing you toward a specific NPC trader. Follow this direction until you locate the trader.

Step 3: Trade for an Upgraded Trainer Card

When you find the trader NPC, interact with them to access their trading menu. You can purchase an upgraded trainer card from them—specifically a Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl trainer card. Trade your original card for one of these upgraded versions.

Step 4: Check Your Level Cap Details

Right-click on your newly acquired trainer card to open its details screen in your inventory. Scroll down on the left side, and you’ll see your current level cap listed as “level cap 15.” Continue scrolling to find a gym leader’s name. This entry will show the gym leader’s name and indicate the new level cap you’ll achieve by defeating them. For example, you might see “Gym Leader Brock – Level cap 15 to 16,” meaning defeating this trainer will increase your level cap to 16.

Step 5: Create a Trainer Spawner

To battle the gym leader and increase your level cap, you need to spawn them in the world. Create a trainer spawner block and place it on the ground. This spawner requires a redstone signal to function, so you’ll need to attach a lever to activate it.

Step 6: Find the Gym Leader’s Signature Item

Right-click your trainer card again and scroll down to find the gym leader you want to battle. Left-click the right arrow next to their name to reveal their signature item. For example, Gym Leader Brock’s signature item is a Smooth Rock.

Step 7: Craft the Signature Item

Now you need to craft the gym leader’s signature item. A Smooth Rock requires a Rock Gem and a Hard Stone. The Hard Stone itself is crafted from a Rock Gem and a Ground Gem.

An easy early-game method to obtain these gems is through the Quest Book. Navigate to Getting Started and scroll up to find quests that reward you with a Rock Gem and Ground Gem for catching a Rock-type Pokémon and a Ground-type Pokémon respectively. Catch one of each type to earn your reward, then craft the necessary items.

Once you have the Smooth Rock crafted, click it onto the trainer spawner to register the gym leader.

Step 8: Battle and Increase Your Level Cap

Activate the trainer spawner with the lever, and Gym Leader Brock will spawn. Defeat this trainer in battle, and your level cap will increase from 15 to 16. Your Pokémon can now be trained beyond level 15.

Step 9: Repeat the Process for Higher Caps

Return to the trader NPC and purchase additional upgraded trainer cards to battle stronger gym leaders. Each defeated gym leader will grant you a progressively higher level cap. By repeating this process with different trainers, you can eventually unlock much higher level caps for your team.

Summary

Increasing your level cap in All The Mods is a straightforward process: craft a trainer card, trade it for an upgraded version, identify which gym leader you want to battle, gather their signature item, spawn them with a trainer spawner, defeat them, and repeat. This system encourages progression and exploration throughout the modpack, allowing you to gradually build a stronger Pokémon team as you advance through the game.
