How to Get Sap, Resin & Rubber in Tech Reborn

Getting started with Tech Reborn requires gathering essential materials, and one of the most important early resources is rubber. In this guide, we’ll walk you through locating rubber trees, harvesting resin, and converting it into rubber — key materials you’ll need for countless crafting recipes in the mod.

Finding Rubber Trees

The first step in Tech Reborn is locating rubber trees, which are your primary source for resin and rubber. Rubber trees have a distinctive appearance: they feature unusually tall leaf blocks at the top, which makes them easy to identify from a distance. When exploring your world, always look for this characteristic tall leaf section at the crown of the tree.

Identifying and Harvesting Resin

Once you’ve found a rubber tree, examine the rubber logs carefully. Resin appears as orange bits on the surface of the logs. You won’t always find resin on every rubber tree, so you may need to search several trees before locating some.

Crafting a Tree Tap

To collect resin from rubber logs, you’ll need to craft a Tree Tap. This simple tool is made from planks and a stick. Once crafted, simply right-click the Tree Tap on the rubber logs where you see resin, and you’ll collect pieces of sap.

Converting Sap to Rubber

The sap you’ve collected can then be smelted into rubber — a crucial material for many recipes throughout Tech Reborn.

A Compressor machine

Setting Up the Resin Basin

Position the Resin Basin directly against a rubber tree. Over time, resin will flow out of the tree automatically. Place a chest beneath the basin to collect the sap passively. This allows you to set up an automatic farm that generates sap and resin without constant manual harvesting.

Keep in mind that you’ll need to progress through the mod and obtain a Compressor and other basic machines before you can build and use a Resin Basin, but it’s worth the investment for reliable, passive resource generation.
