How to Find & Summon the Nether Gauntlet in Prominence 2

The Nether Gauntlet is a challenging boss encounter in Prominence 2 with a recommended boss level of 15. This guide will walk you through locating the Gauntlet Arena, summoning the boss, and understanding its attack patterns so you can defeat it and claim your rewards.

Locating the Gauntlet Arena

To find and summon the Nether Gauntlet, you’ll first need to locate the Gauntlet Arena in the Nether. This is a quite large area that is usually found embedded in lava.

When viewing it on your map, the Gauntlet Arena appears as a distinctive structure. The arena itself is sizeable, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to spot once you know what to look for.

Protecting the Arena from Lava Damage

One critical preparation step before summoning the boss: claim the selected area on your map. This is important because the Nether Gauntlet boss can destroy blocks during combat, which would allow all the surrounding lava to flow into the arena and ruin the fight.

By claiming the area beforehand, you prevent the boss from destroying blocks and keep the lava contained, ensuring a safe battleground.

Summoning the Nether Gauntlet

In the centre of the arena, you’ll find a pillar with an eye block on top. To summon the Nether Gauntlet boss, simply mine this eye block.

Once you break the eye block, the Nether Gauntlet will immediately spawn and the battle begins.

Combat Strategy and Weaknesses

The Nether Gauntlet has a critical weakness: you can only damage it by hitting it directly in the eye. Striking any other part of its body will deal no damage, so precision is essential.

The Nether Gauntlet is also a flying boss, so it will be mobile during the fight. Given this mobility and the need for precise eye shots, using a bow and arrow is the easiest and most effective weapon choice for this encounter.

Rewards and Re-summoning

When you successfully defeat the Nether Gauntlet, it will drop several pieces of ancient debris and a loot chest containing additional valuable items.

If you want to fight the boss again, you can re-summon it by obtaining brimstone nectar and using it in the centre of the arena.
