Rogues & Warriors (RPG Series) – Complete Tutorial

Rogues & Warriors (RPG Series) – Complete Tutorial

The Rogues & Warriors mod is part of the RPG series, offering players two distinct playstyles with unique armor sets, weapons, spells, and gear. Whether you prefer the quick, evasive Rogue or the tanky, hard-hitting Warrior, this comprehensive guide will walk you through crafting gear, learning spells, and mastering combat abilities.

Rogue Class Overview

The Rogue class focuses on evasion and attack speed. Start by crafting the Rogue Mask and gear, which provides evasion chance—allowing you to dodge attacks automatically. This gear also grants fast attack speed and some armor protection. The basic Rogue gear requires only wool and dye to craft.

Rogue Gear Progression

After crafting basic Rogue gear, you can upgrade to the Assassin set. This requires Rabbit Hide, Ink Sacks, and other materials. Later, you can further upgrade your Assassin gear using Netherite.

Warrior Class Overview

The Warrior class emphasizes armor and attack damage. While slower than Rogues, Warriors are significantly more tanky and deal higher damage per hit. Warrior gear provides increased defense and damage output.

Warrior Gear Progression

Craft basic Warrior armor and attack damage gear as your starting point. You can then upgrade to the Bazaarka set, which includes knockback resistance in addition to armor and damage bonuses. Both upgrades require Netherite Scraps and Goat Horns.

Obtaining Key Materials

Goat Horns and the Arms Station

To make the upgrade process easier, construct an Arms Station. This allows you to trade with an Arms Dealer villager who sells Goat Horns at higher levels, along with enchanted weapons that complement both Rogue and Warrior armor sets.

Weapons for Each Class

Rogue Weapons

Rogues primarily use Daggers and Sickles, both of which allow spell casting. Sickles offer 2.0 attack speed (for example, the Gold Sickle has 2.0 attack speed and 3.4 damage), while Daggers are even faster at 2.4 attack speed but deal slightly less damage per hit. The fast attack speed of these weapons is crucial for Rogue gameplay.

Warrior Weapons

Warriors wield Double Axes and Glaves. Double Axes deal significant damage but attack slowly, making them ideal for the Warrior’s high-damage, lower-speed playstyle.

Learning and Using Spells

The Spell Binding Table

To learn spells, craft a Spell Binding Table. Place a book inside and select either a Rogue’s Codex or Warrior’s Codex to learn available spells. Each spell costs experience levels to learn—for example, Slice and Dice requires level 10 experience and costs three experience levels to unlock.

Rogue Spells

The Rogue has access to several powerful spells:

Slice and Dice — Enter a battle trance where each attack grants extra power stacks. The faster you attack, the more stacks accumulate, dealing increased damage. This synergizes perfectly with fast Rogue weapons.

Shock Powder — Stun nearby enemies instantly.

Shadow Step — Appear behind your target and vanish from sight, entering stealth for eight seconds.

Warrior Spells

Warriors have different abilities tailored to their tanky, damage-focused role:

Shattering Throw — Throw your weapon at a target, dealing damage and reducing their armor so they take more damage afterward.

Demoralising Shout — Reduce the attack damage of all nearby enemies while dealing a small amount of damage to them.

Charge — Increase your movement speed and knockback resistance while freeing yourself from any movement-impairing effects.

Whirlwind — Spin around dealing damage to all nearby enemies.

Casting Spells in Combat

To cast spells during gameplay, open your inventory and access the Accessory Screen. You’ll see a Spell Book slot where you can equip your learned spell book (e.g., Rogue’s Spell Book). When you equip a weapon capable of spell casting, the available spells appear in the bottom left corner of your screen.

Spell Hotkeys

Spells are bound to number keys (1-4) on your keyboard. For example, pressing number 3 activates Shadow Step, teleporting you behind your target. Pressing 4 activates Vanish, making you invisible. Number 2 activates a different ability, and right-clicking triggers the primary spell. Experiment with your keybindings to find the layout that works best for your playstyle.

Summary

The Rogues & Warriors RPG mod offers two complete playstyles with distinct gear progressions, weapons, and spell sets. Rogues excel at fast, evasive combat with crowd control and stealth abilities, while Warriors dominate through durability and raw damage output. Craft your preferred gear, learn spells at the Spell Binding Table, and master your abilities in combat. For additional class guides and mod tutorials, check out the full playlist on the channel.
