How to Get Mana FAST in Mahou Tsukai

How to Get Mana FAST in Mahou Tsukai

Mana is one of the first essential resources you’ll need when starting with the Mahou Tsukai mod. This guide shows you an incredibly efficient method to generate Mana quickly, scaling up from basic tools and crafting materials to a fully automated mana farm setup.

Understanding Mana Basics

In Mahou Tsukai (or Mahuta Sky), Mana is a core resource that you’ll gain and spend at a steady rate. You can see your Mana level displayed in the top left corner of your screen. The more you generate and use Mana, the higher your Mana limit becomes. Your limit starts at 100 but naturally increases as you actively use and generate it—for example, it can grow to 119, 120, and beyond as you progress.

Materials You’ll Need

This method requires two key components, each scalable so you can repeat the process as many times as you want:

Durability Exchange

2 Emeralds

1 Diamond

Boundary of Life Drain

2 Iron

1 Diamond

Tools

You’ll need tools with decent durability (but not unbreakable). Diamond or Netherite are ideal, though Iron works fine if you’re early game or have an Iron farm. Shovels are recommended over pickaxes because they only require 1 Diamond to craft versus 3 for a pickaxe. Stone tools will also work but burn through durability much faster.

Setting Up the Durability Exchange

The Durability Exchange works by converting the durability of worn-out tools directly into Mana. Here’s how to set it up:

Place down a chest

Use your Dagger from Mahou Tsukai and right-click on yourself to start bleeding

Shift+click on the chest to bind it

Create 2 Powdered Emerald and 1 Powdered Diamond using Eva and Mortar Pestle (or a Hammer and Pestle—the Hammer gives you 2 instead of 1)

Right-click the Powdered Emerald and Powdered Diamond into the chest to activate it

Once activated, the Durability Exchange will drain the durability from all gear in that chest and convert it to Mana. You can see this happening in real-time with your Mana meter increasing in the top left corner.

Setting Up Boundary of Life Drain

The Boundary of Life Drain is the consumption half of the equation. This spell slowly drains health from nearby mobs within a 10-block range and converts that drained health into Mana (or hunger if hunger is full). It drains 5 Mana from the caster every second.

To set it up:

Use your Dagger and right-click yourself to bleed

Create a circle and place 2 Iron and 1 Emerald

Right-click to activate

Set up multiple Boundary of Life Drain circles to drain Mana much faster. You can activate them quickly by right-clicking repeatedly:

Scaling Up Your Mana Farm

To maximize Mana generation, create multiple chests filled with tools and multiple Boundary of Life Drain circles. A recommended baseline setup includes:

8 Durability Exchange chests (filled with tools)

8 Boundary of Life Drain circles (consuming the generated Mana)

You can scale this up or down depending on your needs and available resources. The more setups you create, the faster your Mana will increase.

Optimization Tips

As you progress through your modpack, consider these optimizations:

Auto-Crafting: Use refined storage or similar mods to automatically craft and export tools into your chests

Hoppers: Place hoppers next to chests to automate tool insertion

Attuned Diamond: You can craft this to manually store Mana, though it’s not necessary for this farm setup

The exact optimization depends on where you are in your playthrough and which mod pack you’re using. Early game? Stick with manual tool crafting and insertion. Late game with auto-crafting systems? Use those to feed tools directly into your chests.

Conclusion

This Durability Exchange and Boundary of Life Drain combo is one of the fastest ways to generate Mana in Mahou Tsukai. By scaling up the number of setups you create, you can generate Mana extremely quickly and steadily increase your Mana limit. Whether you use a minimal setup of one exchange and one drain circle or build out an elaborate farm with multiple chests and circles depends entirely on your progression and resources.
