Once you’ve obtained gear in Prominence 2, reforging is one of the most important techniques to master. Reforging allows you to upgrade your equipment through different quality tiers—from common and uncommon all the way up to epic, legendary, and mythic gear. This tutorial will walk you through the complete reforging process and explain how to maximize your chances of getting the best possible gear.

Understanding Gear Quality Tiers

Prominence 2 features multiple gear quality levels that affect the stats and performance of your equipment:

Rare

Epic

Legendary

Mythic

As you progress through these tiers, your gear’s stats improve significantly. For example, uncommon gear will have decent stats, rare gear will be considerably better, and epic gear is significantly more powerful with no negative stat rolls. Higher tiers like legendary and mythic gear represent the ultimate endgame equipment.

How Reforging Works

The Anvil and Reforge Gear Tab

To begin reforging, you’ll need an anvil. When you open an anvil, look for the second tab labeled “Reforge Gear.” This is where all reforging takes place.

Required Materials for Reforging

To successfully reforge an item, you will need three components:

The gear item you want to reforge (weapons and armor)

The base material of that item (for example, diamonds if you’re reforging a diamond rapier)

A reforging material from the appropriate tier

Reforging Materials and Tiers

Tier 1: Limestone Chunks

Limestone chunks are the entry-level reforging material. They can produce gear of common, uncommon, rare, or epic quality. You can obtain limestone chunks by stone cutting a limestone block, which yields four pieces. Additionally, you can craft them into items of various quality tiers.

Tier 2: Pie Right

Pie right is the second reforging material tier. It can produce uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary quality gear—meaning you will never receive common gear when using pie right. You can obtain pie right by:

Mining pie right ore in the Nether

Crafting it using four pie right dust

Smelting an ancient debris block, which yields four pieces of pie right

Tier 3: Galena Ore

Galena ore is the advanced reforging material that can produce rare, epic, legendary, and mythic quality gear. This means you will never receive uncommon or common gear when using Galena ore. It is found in the End and can also be obtained through advanced crafting methods.

Step-by-Step Reforging Process

Preparation: Repair Your Gear

Before you can reforge an item, it must have full durability. If your gear is damaged, repair it first using the base material. In the example of a diamond rapier, you would repair it with diamonds.

Reforging Your Item

Once your gear is at full durability, follow these steps:

Open an anvil and navigate to the “Reforge Gear” tab

Place your gear item in the appropriate slot

Shift-click to add your reforging material (limestone chunk, pie right, or Galena ore)

Shift-click to add the base material (diamonds, iron, etc.)

Press the reforging button

Your gear will now be reforged into a (potentially) higher quality tier. Each reforge attempt consumes one of your base material and one reforging material.

Repeated Reforging

You can continue reforging the same item multiple times until you achieve the quality tier and stat rolls you desire. Each time you click the reforging button, you consume one base material and one reforging material. For instance, if you reforge an uncommon item and get a rare result, you can reforge that rare item again to potentially get an epic version.

The Luck Stat: A Game-Changer

How Luck Affects Reforging

Your luck stat has a significant impact on reforging outcomes. Luck increases the likelihood of favorable results when reforging. The higher your luck, the better your chances of rolling higher quality tiers (like rare and epic) and the lower your chances of rolling lower tiers (like common and uncommon).

For example, if you have a piece of armor with “+1 Luck,” this stat directly influences your reforging success rates.

Additional Benefits of Luck

Beyond reforging, luck also impacts loot quality when opening loot chests and similar discoveries. This makes luck an important stat that many players overlook, but it should be a priority when building your character.
