Mekanism 3X Ore Processing Complete Tutorial
Tripling ores in Mekanism is simpler than it might initially appear. With just a few essential machines arranged in the correct order, you can efficiently process raw ore into ingots while maximizing your output. This guide walks you through the complete setup, from raw ore input to final smelted ingots.
Understanding the Production Line Layout
The key to understanding any Mekanism ore processing setup is learning the color-coding system used in these guides. The main production line is represented by a red line—this is where your ore flows through the primary machines. Any lines that are not red are support lines, which feed necessary resources into the main production pipeline.
In this 3X ore processing setup, we’ll be processing raw osmium as our example ore.
The Main Processing Machines
To triple your ores, you need to set up these four machines in the following order:
Purification Chamber
Crusher
Enrichment Chamber
Energized Smelter
If you find the process complex, simply follow this order and connect each machine to the next using logistical transporters.
Step-by-Step Processing Breakdown
Step 1: Purification Chamber
Begin by feeding your raw ore (raw osmium) into a Purification Chamber using a logistical transporter. The purification chamber uses oxygen to convert raw ore into ore clumps. For raw osmium, this produces osmium clumps as output.

Step 2: Crusher
From the purification chamber, feed the osmium clumps into a Crusher using another logistical transporter. The crusher processes the clumps into dirty ore dust. In this example, osmium clumps become dirty osmium dust.

Step 3: Enrichment Chamber
Send the dirty ore dust from the crusher into an Enrichment Chamber. This machine refines the dirty dust into pure ore dust. The dirty osmium dust becomes clean osmium dust ready for smelting.

Step 4: Energized Smelter
Finally, process the pure ore dust through an Energized Smelter to produce your finished ingots. The osmium dust is smelted into osmium ingots, completing the tripling process.

The Oxygen Supply System
To fully automate your ore processing, you need to supply oxygen to the purification chamber. This requires an additional machine: the Electrolytic Separator.
Setting Up Oxygen Generation
For a fully automated Mekanism setup, use an Electric Pump to extract water and feed it into an Electrolytic Separator. The electrolytic separator breaks down water into two gases: hydrogen and oxygen. Hydrogen appears on the left side, while oxygen appears on the right side.

The oxygen line (represented in blue) carries oxygen from the electrolytic separator into the purification chamber, where it’s used to purify raw ore. You can dispose of the excess hydrogen as it’s not needed for ore tripling.

Complete Setup Summary
Here’s the complete flow for 3X ore processing in Mekanism:
Water → Electric Pump → Electrolytic Separator
Oxygen from Electrolytic Separator → Purification Chamber
Raw Ore → Purification Chamber → Crusher → Enrichment Chamber → Energized Smelter → Ingots
That’s all you need to triple your ores in Mekanism. Connect these machines in order, ensure oxygen reaches your purification chamber, and watch your ore yield increase by three times.
