How to Automate Blood in EvilCraft – Minecraft 1.21.1

Method 1: Passive Blood Farming with Undead Trees

Growing Undead Trees

To create Undead Trees, place a Dead Bush into your Blood Infuser to produce an Undead Sapling. Plant these saplings and they will continuously drip blood, leaving blood stains on the ground around them automatically — no mobs required.

Setting Up the Powered Sanguinarie Pedestal

Place a Powered Sanguinarie Pedestal near your Undead Trees. This pedestal automatically collects nearby blood stains. You can see the pedestal filling up with blood over time — each one can hold up to a bucket’s worth of blood, and multiple pedestals can be running simultaneously to increase your yield.

Using Blood Chalices to Create a Blood Network

To distribute your collected blood, place Blood Chalices next to each Powered Sanguinarie Pedestal. Blood Chalices work similarly to Ender Chests — whatever blood level is stored in one chalice is shared across all chalices in your network. This means you can place chalices next to your machines or wherever you need blood, and they will all stay in sync as the pedestals fill them up.

Using Dark Tanks as an Alternative

If you prefer a more traditional fluid storage approach, Dark Tanks work just as well. Like Blood Chalices, placing a Dark Tank next to a Powered Sanguinarie Pedestal will cause the tank to automatically collect blood from it. Positioning your Powered Sanguinarie Pedestals at the bottom where mobs land will allow them to automatically collect the resulting blood stains. Using a Spiked Plate for Ground-Level Blood Generation

If a fall-damage setup isn’t practical for your build, you can craft a Spiked Plate instead. Combine a Heavy Weighted Pressure Plate with Spikes to create it. Place the Spiked Plate directly on top of a Powered Sanguinarie Pedestal. Any mob that walks or spawns onto the Spiked Plate will take damage and generate blood, which the pedestal underneath will collect automatically. Surround the area with walls and pair it with a mob spawning mechanism to keep the blood flowing.

Important Note on Mob Spawning in EvilCraft

It’s worth noting that EvilCraft’s built-in mob farming options have limitations. The two in-mod methods for spawning mobs are designed to produce mob loot rather than blood stains. Using Vengeful Spirits, for example, will not generate blood in the way needed for this setup. For the best results, use a vanilla-style mob farm or a dedicated mob farming mod to supply mobs to your spiked plate or fall-damage system.
