How to Find & Kill Tyros the Flame Breaker – Iron’s Spells & Spellbooks Boss Guide
Tyros the Flame Breaker — also known as the Echo of Tyros, the First Flame Bearer — is the second major boss in the Iron’s Spells & Spellbooks mod. He represents the end of the mod’s progression path, and defeating him unlocks some of the best gear and crafting materials in the entire mod. In this guide, you’ll learn exactly where to find him, how to summon him, what he drops, and how to use those drops to unlock the Citadel Vaults.
Finding the Hellfire Citadel
To reach Tyros, you first need to locate the Hellfire Citadel — a massive, unmistakable structure in the world. If you have the Compass mod installed, you can search for it by typing Citadel (or Iron Citadel) into your compass to get a direct bearing on its location.

Once you arrive at the Hellfire Citadel, you’ll find it’s far more than just a boss arena. Inside, there is a massive library, multiple bridges, and numerous spawners filled with Ancient Knights. Loot chests are scattered throughout the bridges and contain a wealth of Iron’s Spells & Spellbooks items alongside other valuable loot. It’s worth exploring thoroughly before heading to the boss.

Navigating to the Boss Arena
The interior of the Hellfire Citadel can feel like a maze at first. The structure contains multiple bridges that all look similar, but they lead to different destinations. Pay close attention to which bridge you take:
One bridge leads to the Ancient Library.
Another bridge leads upward to the Boss Arena.

The Citadel Vault — Remember This for Later
On your way through the Citadel, you will pass a Vault. Take note of where it is — you will need to return here after defeating Tyros to claim your loot. Do not ignore it on your first pass.

Continue up the side staircases to reach Zibos Arena, also called the Cindras Soul Room. This is where Tyros is summoned and fought.

How to Summon Tyros the Flame Breaker
Inside the Cindras Soul Room, you will find a Cindras Soul Altar. To summon the boss, interact with the altar. The summoning process requires Netherite Scraps and potentially other materials — make sure you have these ready before you attempt the fight.

Once you interact with the altar, the Echo of Tyros, the First Flame Bearer will appear. Be ready — he is a formidable opponent.

Tips for Fighting Tyros
Tyros is not a solo threat — he summons additional mobs to overwhelm you during the fight. Here are a few things to keep in mind before you engage:
Bring powerful offensive spells — Ender spells are highly recommended.
Wear strong armour — the preferred gear for this fight includes high-tier Iron’s Spells & Spellbooks armour.
Prepare for mob waves in addition to Tyros himself.
Tyros Boss Drops
Defeating Tyros rewards you with some of the most important endgame materials in Iron’s Spells & Spellbooks. His confirmed drops include:
Divine Soul Shards — used for crafting endgame light-bringer gear
Decrepit Siphon — can be upgraded with end damage and other enhancements
Signet of the Betrayer
Arcane Essence
Cinder Essence
Decrepit Key — used to unlock the Citadel Vaults
The Divine Soul Shards are particularly important as they are used to craft top-tier items such as the Boots of Speed and the Infernal Sorcerer Chestplate.

Using the Decrepit Key on the Citadel Vaults
After defeating Tyros, head back to the Citadel Vault you passed on your way in. Use the Decrepit Key on the vault — the vault will light up and begin dispensing a large quantity of loot.

What the Vaults Contain
The Citadel Vaults contain a generous selection of high-value materials, including:
Netherite (scraps and related items)
Inks and Legendary Inks
Arcanum Ingots (Perium Ingots)
Blank Rune Stones
Blank Scrolls

There are four vaults in total within the Citadel. It is currently unclear whether the Decrepit Key is reusable across multiple vaults or consumed on each use — test this carefully when you play.

Summary
Tyros the Flame Breaker is the final boss of the Iron’s Spells & Spellbooks progression. To fight him, locate the Hellfire Citadel using the Compass mod, navigate through the structure to the Cindras Soul Room, and summon him using the Cindras Soul Altar with Netherite Scraps. Defeat him to earn the Decrepit Key, Divine Soul Shards, and other endgame materials. Finally, use the Decrepit Key on the Citadel Vaults to collect even more powerful crafting resources. If you’ve made it this far — congratulations, you’ve completed the Iron’s Spells & Spellbooks progression!
