Prominence 2 Mine Cells Dungeon Tutorial

Prominence 2 Mine Cells Dungeon Tutorial

Mine Cells are one of the best early-game progression methods in Prominence 2, offering excellent opportunities to gather enchantments, weapons, and valuable loot. This guide will walk you through exploring a Mine Cell dungeon, identifying enemy types, navigating the multi-floor layout, and maximizing your rewards before facing the mod pack’s first boss.

What Are Mine Cells?

Mine Cells are special dungeon structures found throughout your Prominence 2 map. They appear as distinctive structures with a “Prisoners Quarters” aesthetic and feature a portal entrance. Don’t be intimidated by their appearance—Mine Cells are manageable with proper preparation and are essential for early-game gearing.

To locate Mine Cells, simply explore your map while wearing Rogue Gear, which provides speed bonuses that make exploration much faster and more efficient.

Pre-Dungeon Preparation

Before entering a Mine Cell, equip yourself with basic iron weapons at minimum. Iron-tier gear is sufficient to handle the enemies you’ll encounter. Wearing Rogue Gear during exploration is recommended because of its speed benefits, allowing you to move through the environment quickly and search for multiple Mine Cells.

Entering the Mine Cell

When you step through the Mine Cell portal, the game will load a new dimension. The layout may appear maze-like at first glance, but it’s actually quite straightforward to navigate once you understand the structure.

First Floor: Enemy Types and Combat

Leaping Zombies

You’ll encounter these enemies throughout the Mine Cell. They perform leap attacks that deal moderate damage, but are otherwise not particularly difficult to defeat. Watch for the floating spawn markers before they appear.

Undead Archers

These basic ranged enemies function as standard archers. They pose minimal threat and should be eliminated quickly.

Shield Bearers

Shield Bearers perform charging attacks and carry shields that block frontal damage. When engaged, keep your distance and roll by pressing R on your keyboard to evade their charge attacks. Once they’ve committed to their charge, circle behind them and attack from behind to bypass their shield defense.

Grenadiers

These enemies throw grenade-like projectiles that explode on impact. Maintain distance and watch for incoming grenades to avoid taking splash damage.

First Floor: Loot and Resources

Mine Cells contain abundant loot chests throughout their layout. Common drops include:

Diamonds

Emeralds

Iron Ingots

Gold Ingots

Core Weapons (such as Nine Great Axes)

Enchanted Equipment (like Electrical Whips)

Enchantment Books

Health Flasks (restore 10% maximum health and grant Regen 4 for 5 seconds with quick cooldown)

Blast Protection armor pieces

Health Flasks are particularly valuable as they provide rapid healing with a short cooldown, making them excellent for sustaining through difficult encounters.

Descending to the Second Floor

After clearing the first floor, locate the stairwell leading downward. You can descend by jumping down multiple levels. Two enemies will be waiting at the bottom, but they are standard mobs you’ve already encountered.

Second Floor: Navigation and Layout

The second floor follows a similar structure to the first floor. Navigate through the corridors, defeat enemies, and loot chests as you explore. The layout is straightforward despite its appearance—simply follow the path forward until you reach the boss room and portal.

The Unbreakable Cell Crafter

On the second floor, you’ll find a room containing the Unbreakable Cell Crafter. This crafting station allows you to create core weapons and equipment using materials found throughout the dungeon. Click “View Recipes” to see available crafting options.

However, you can often find these weapons already crafted in loot chests while exploring. After completing three to four Mine Cells, you’ll likely have discovered most of the craftable weapons through natural looting, so the crafter is supplementary rather than essential.

The Promenade of the Condemned

After the Unbreakable Cell Crafter room, you’ll find a portal leading to the Promenade of the Condemned—a large open-world dimension connected to the Mine Cell. You can immediately return to the Overworld through a portal, or explore this additional area for extra loot and combat experience.

Promenade Enemies and Exploration

The Promenade contains multiple buildings and outdoor areas filled with:

Leaping Zombies (same as before)

Runners (fast-moving enemies that charge at you)

Mutated Bats (simple to defeat)

Other previously encountered mob types

Additional loot chests are scattered throughout the Promenade with similar reward tables to the Mine Cell itself. Your Luck stat will enhance the quality of loot found in these chests.

Loot Summary and Early-Game Strategy

A typical Mine Cell run yields diamonds, emeralds, iron, gold, and various enchanted weapons. This combination of resources makes Mine Cells the ideal location for early-game gearing. Completing several Mine Cells before facing the mod pack’s first boss (the Night Boss) ensures you’ll have adequate equipment and enchantments to succeed.

Conclusion

Mine Cells are essential early-game dungeons in Prominence 2 that provide abundant loot, combat experience, and progression opportunities. With basic iron weapons and an understanding of the enemy types and layout, you’ll be able to efficiently clear these dungeons and gather the resources needed to tackle the mod pack’s first major challenge. Remember to explore multiple Mine Cells to build up your gear and enchantment collection before progressing further.
