How to Get to & Use the ATM9 Mining Dimension

How to Get to & Use the ATM9 Mining Dimension

The mining dimension in All the Mods 9 (ATM9) is an essential resource for mid-game progression. This guide will walk you through crafting the teleport pad, accessing the mining dimension, and understanding its unique layer structure so you can efficiently gather ores from every dimension in one convenient location.

Getting the Teleport Pad

The teleport pad is your gateway to the mining dimension. To use it, simply stand on the pad and right-click—you’ll instantly be transported to the mining dimension.

The teleport pad is crafted from:

One end-apparlet

Four allthemodium nuggets

Obtaining Allthemodium Ingots

Before you can craft the teleport pad, you need allthemodium ingots to make the nuggets. According to Chapter 1 of the quest line, allthemodium is an incredibly rare ore found exclusively in the deep dark biome along walls and ceilings.

To mine allthemodium ore, you’ll need a pickaxe of netherite grade or better.

Pro tip: Mine just one raw allthemodium ore and craft a single ingot to create your first teleport pad immediately. This is worth the effort because allthemodium is significantly more common in the mining dimension itself, making subsequent ingots much easier to obtain.

Understanding the Mining Dimension Structure

The mining dimension is a superflat world packed with ore from every dimension in the modpack. It features distinct layer-based geology that you’ll encounter as you descend.

Surface Layer

On the surface of the mining dimension, you’ll find GregTech ores exposed, including sulphur and sapphire. The dimension is also abundant with Botania flowers scattered throughout.

Stone Layer

Below the surface, you’ll encounter a thin dirt layer followed by a thick stone layer. Ore abundance is exceptionally high throughout this section.

Deepslate Layer

Continuing downward, you’ll transition into deepslate, which extends for a considerable distance. You’ll begin around Y-level 200 and descend to approximately Y-level 100 before reaching the next layer.

Nether Layer

Deep within the mining dimension exists a nether-themed section containing nether-specific ores from GregTech, such as nether sulphur ore and nether sphalerite ore.

End Layer

Beyond the nether section, you’ll find all ores available in the End dimension, allowing you to gather end-game materials without leaving the mining dimension.

Bedrock Layer

The mining dimension extends all the way down to bedrock, making it a comprehensive ore source for virtually every dimension in ATM9.

Important Limitations

While the mining dimension contains ores from nearly every dimension, there are two notable exceptions: vibranium and unobtainium cannot be found in the mining dimension. These materials must be obtained through alternative methods.

Recommended Mining Machines

For efficient ore collection in the mining dimension, we recommend using one of these automated mining solutions:

RF Tools Builder with a quarry card

Mekanism Digital Miner

If you’re unfamiliar with how to set up either of these machines, check our channel for detailed tutorials on each.

Conclusion

The ATM9 mining dimension is a game-changer for resource gathering. By investing the effort to obtain your first allthemodium ingot and crafting a teleport pad, you’ll unlock access to a dimension where ores from all worlds are available in one convenient location. Use automated mining machines to maximize your ore yield and accelerate your progression through the modpack.
