First, any animal you slay using a knife is guaranteed to drop secondary loot — things like leather from cows and feathers from chickens, often in greater quantities than a standard sword kill. Pigs, for example, will drop ham — a Farmer’s Delight exclusive item — when killed with a knife.

Second, you can use the knife on crops in the world. Swing it at wheat and it will drop straw instead of the usual seeds and wheat items.

Rope: The Best Way to Descend

Rope builds downward and lets you safely climb down cliff faces, mine shafts, or any steep drop.

You can also craft a safety net using rope. Place it below any drop zone and it will completely negate fall damage — great for mining builds or dangerous terrain.

New Crops: Where to Find Them in the Wild

Farmer’s Delight adds six new crops to Minecraft: tomato, beetroot, carrot, potato, onion, cabbage, and rice. You can find wild versions of these crops growing naturally, but only in specific biomes. To use the cooking pot, insert your ingredients along with bowls. Many Farmer’s Delight recipes are soup or stew-style dishes. For example, placing rice and bowls into a heated cooking pot produces Cooked Rice, which grants the Comfort effect for 30 seconds.

The Skillet

The Skillet is designed for quick, on-the-move cooking. Shift right-click your skillet onto a heat source such as a campfire or stove, then right-click your raw ingredients directly into it. After roughly 10–20 seconds your cooked food item will appear directly in your inventory. For example, cracking eggs into a skillet produces Fried Eggs.
