Powah – Solar Panels Tutorial
Powah – Solar Panels Tutorial
Solar panels are an excellent renewable energy solution for early-game power generation in the Powah mod. They’re environmentally conscious, easy to set up, and highly scalable. This guide walks you through installing and optimizing solar panels to build a sustainable power generation system.
Setting Up Your Solar Panel Foundation
Begin by laying down cables either underneath or above your desired solar panel location—the placement is entirely up to your preference and build design. Once your cables are in place, you can add solar panels on top of the cable network.
One of the best features of solar panels is their scalability. You can fill an entire area with a massive grid of solar panels to significantly increase your power output. The panels look great arranged together and create an impressive renewable energy array.

Solar Panel Output and Energy Generation
Each solar panel generates energy during daylight hours. As you observe the panels working, you’ll see their internal batteries filling with power. The energy generation rates vary based on the panel tier:
Energy Generation by Tier
Basic Solar Panel: 60 forge energy per tick
Hardened Solar Panel: 100 forge energy per tick
Tier 2: 200 forge energy per tick
Tier 3: 400 forge energy per tick
Tier 4: 800 forge energy per tick
Tier 5: 2,000 forge energy per tick
By upgrading to higher-tier panels, you can generate massive amounts of power with a relatively compact setup. Even basic panels produce a solid 60 forge energy per tick, making them viable for early-game progression.

Extracting Energy from Solar Panels
Solar panels have directional energy output. Looking at the panel faces, you’ll notice that only the bottom face is enabled for power extraction—all other faces are automatically disabled. This means you must extract power exclusively from the bottom of the panels.

Storing Generated Power
To efficiently use the energy your panels generate, connect an energy cell to the bottom of your solar panel array. The energy cell will automatically collect and store all the power produced by your panels. Even with just starter-level panels, you’ll see the energy cell rapidly accumulate a substantial power reserve that you can use throughout your base.

Summary
Solar panels in Powah offer a simple, scalable, and environmentally friendly approach to early-game power generation. By arranging multiple panels in an array, connecting them via cables, and attaching an energy cell for storage, you create a self-sufficient renewable power system. With tier options ranging from 60 to 2,000 forge energy per tick, solar panels can grow alongside your base’s power demands.
