How To Use Obelisks In EnderIO
How To Use Obelisks In EnderIO
EnderIO obelisks are powerful utility blocks that serve a variety of purposes, from mob control to weather manipulation and experience storage. In this guide, we’ll walk you through each of the five obelisk types and show you how to craft and use them effectively: the Aversion Obelisk, the Inhibitor Obelisk, the Weather Obelisk, the Experience Obelisk, and the Attractor Obelisk.
Aversion Obelisk
The Aversion Obelisk is your first line of defense against unwanted mob spawning. When you right-click on it, you’ll see 12 Soul Vial slots and a capacitor slot. The obelisk has an absolutely massive range, displayed as a large square around the block.
To craft an Aversion Obelisk, you’ll need a Tormented Enderman Head, which you can make in a Slice and Splice machine.
The core function of this obelisk is simple: insert Soul Vials of mobs you want to prevent from spawning within its range. For example, if you insert a Donkey Vial and a Chicken Vial, neither donkeys nor chickens will be able to spawn in the affected area. This is particularly useful for preventing dangerous mobs like Zombies, Skeletons, and Endermen from spawning near your base. You can handle up to 12 different mob types simultaneously.
You can also configure the obelisk using the Configure I/O screen, and activate it with redstone. Note that this obelisk does require power to function.

Inhibitor Obelisk
The Inhibitor Obelisk serves a very different purpose: it stops Endermen from teleporting away within its range. To craft this obelisk, you’ll need an Ender Crystal.
Here’s how to make an Ender Crystal: First, right-click an Enderman with a Soul Vial to get a Vibrant Crystal. Then, place the Vibrant Crystal into a Soul Binder. After approximately one minute, you’ll receive an Ender Crystal, which is then used to craft the Inhibitor Obelisk.

Once placed, the Inhibitor Obelisk will prevent Endermen from teleporting away within its range. The actual range depends on the capacitor you insert into the obelisk.

Weather Obelisk
The Weather Obelisk is a complex but interesting addition that allows you to control the weather. To craft one, you’ll need a Weaver Crystal, which requires pulsating crystals, vibrant crystals, and an Ender crystal. The pulsating crystals are made from pulsating nuggets and a diamond.

To use the Weather Obelisk, insert a fluid catalyst into the catalyst tank along with fireworks. The obelisk will then shoot fireworks into the sky and trigger the corresponding weather effect.
To make Sunny Weather: Use Liquid Sunshine with a Firework Rocket. Liquid Sunshine is crafted in a VAT using Firewater, Glowstone, and Sunflowers. Firewater is made in a VAT with HOOCH, Blaze Powder, and Redstone. HOOCH itself is created with water, organic material like seeds, and sugar.

To make Rain: Use Cloud Seed, which is made in a VAT with clay, ice, salt, and water.
To make Thunderstorms: Use Concentrated Cloud Seed, which is Cloud Seed combined with silver, electron blend, or clay in a VAT.
While the Weather Obelisk is an interesting feature, the effort required to produce the catalyst materials makes it less practical for most players.
Experience Obelisk
The Experience Obelisk is straightforward and extremely useful. It requires only an Experience Rod at the top, which is very easy to craft.
This obelisk can store a massive amount of experience—effectively an infinite or nearly infinite amount. You can retrieve all player XP levels, with a maximum storage capacity of level 16,218 in creative mode. Use the on-screen buttons to deposit all your experience into the obelisk for safekeeping.

Attractor Obelisk
The Attractor Obelisk is perfect for gathering and controlling mobs. Like the Aversion Obelisk, it uses Soul Vial slots and a capacitor slot. Insert the Soul Vials of mobs you want to attract, along with a capacitor.
When powered and within range, any mobs matching the Soul Vials you’ve inserted will be attracted to the obelisk. For example, inserting a Chicken Soul Vial will attract all nearby chickens to the obelisk’s location. This makes it an excellent tool for creating mob farms or gathering specific mobs in one place so you can harvest them efficiently.

Summary
EnderIO obelisks offer diverse functionality for different playstyles:
Aversion Obelisk: Prevents specific mobs from spawning in its range
Inhibitor Obelisk: Stops Endermen from teleporting away
Weather Obelisk: Controls weather (though resource-intensive)
Experience Obelisk: Stores massive amounts of player experience
Attractor Obelisk: Attracts specific mobs to its location for farming
All obelisks share common features: configurable I/O settings, redstone activation, and range displays. Choose the obelisks that fit your needs and optimize your EnderIO setup accordingly.
