Version Differences: Apotheosis vs Apothic Spawners

If you are playing on Minecraft 1.21 or above, the spawners module has been separated into its own mod called Apothic Spawners. To find its items in JEI, search for @apotheosis spawn and it will display all relevant items. If you are on version 1.20 or below, the module is still bundled inside the main Apotheosis mod — simply search @apotheosis in JEI to access it.

The Capturing Enchantment

Apotheosis adds a brand new enchantment called Capturing. This enchantment can be applied to a sword, and when you kill a mob while wielding it, there is a small chance that the mob will drop its spawn egg. This is a fantastic way to collect spawn eggs without creative mode.

Using Spawn Eggs on Apotheosis Spawners

Once you have a spawn egg, you can right-click it onto an Apotheosis spawner to change what mob that spawner produces. For example, using a Cave Spider spawn egg on a Monster Spawner will instantly convert it into a Cave Spider spawner. The spawner itself looks like a standard Minecraft spawner, but it is enhanced by Apotheosis under the hood.

Redstone — Adds redstone control to the spawner.

Prismarine Crystals — Adjusts the activation range (how close or far a player needs to be).

Chorus Fruit — Spawned entities will have no AI — they will simply spawn and stand still.

Additional upgrades include: spawn delay adjustments, increasing max entity count, removing spawn delay, reducing initial health, ignoring players, ignoring light levels, ignoring spawn conditions, and burning spawned entities.

Using Nether Quartz to Invert Upgrades

Here’s a powerful trick — if you hold Nether Quartz in your off-hand while applying any of the upgrades listed above, the effect will be inverted. For example, using a Turtle Egg in your main hand (which normally forces baby spawns) while holding Nether Quartz in your off-hand will make the spawner never spawn babies. This is especially useful for mobs like zombies, where you may want to avoid baby variants entirely. This inversion mechanic applies to all of the upgrades in the same way.
