How To Make Arcane Stone In Thaumcraft 6

Arcane Stone is one of the foundational crafting materials in Thaumcraft 6, and the good news is — it’s much easier to make than you might think. In this guide, we’ll walk you through crafting Arcane Stone, Arcane Stone Bricks, and even some advanced blocks like the Paving Stone of Travel and the Barrier Stone.

What You Need To Craft Arcane Stone

Before you start, you’ll need two key ingredients: Ordo Vis Crystals and Stone.

Gathering Ordo Vis Crystals

Ordo Crystals can be mined out in the world — keep an eye out for them in caves and on the sides of mountains. If you’re searching this guide, chances are you’ve already spotted them during your exploration.

Getting Stone (Not Cobblestone)

You’ll need regular Stone, not Cobblestone. To get this, you have two options: mine it using a Silk Touch enchanted pickaxe, or smelt Cobblestone in a furnace to convert it back into Stone.

Crafting Arcane Stone

Here’s the great part — you don’t need an Arcane Workbench for this. A regular Crafting Table works just fine. Place an Ordo Vis Crystal in the centre slot and surround it on all sides with Stone. That’s all there is to it — you’ll craft Arcane Stone.

Crafting Arcane Stone Bricks

If you need Arcane Stone Bricks, the process is just as simple. Take four pieces of Arcane Stone and arrange them in a 2×2 pattern in your Crafting Table — just like crafting standard bricks.

Advanced Recipes: Arcane Workbench

Some blocks — such as the Paving Stone of Travel and the Barrier Stone — require the Arcane Workbench. These also require Arcane Stone Bricks as a base, so make sure you’ve crafted those first.

Paving Stone of Travel

To craft the Paving Stone of Travel in the Arcane Workbench, place your Arcane Stone Bricks in the recipe and add Aer and Terra crystals into the two designated vis crystal slots. This will produce the Paving Stone of Travel.

Barrier Stone

To craft the Barrier Stone, swap out the crystal types — you’ll need Ignis and Ordo crystals in the slots instead. The Barrier Stone is an incredibly useful block, as mobs cannot pass over it.
